PS3 Custom Firmware Option on 4.55?!?

URGENT: In updates past 3.55, did it still have the option in System Update to do a System Update from Storage Media? Because I just updated my OFW PS3 to 4.55 and I saw the option, so I decided to put Rogero 4.50 1.01 on a USB (Correct Directory of course) and it correctly read it and is asking if I want to install it. Is it like this for everyone?

(I've always had this option by the way, if it doesn't already show up for everyone, it might be because my PS3 is connected to both my PCs and Routers Media Servers, but when I selected the option for "Update via Storage Manager" it says:...)

"The following update data was found:
Version 4.50-Rog v1.01
Location: USB Device
OK"

I have no idea if this shows for everybody and I'm just being stupid, but if not, guess we just found a way to install on any version... :) (I'M NOT UPDATING MINE, I WANT TO MAKE SURE I WON'T FUCK MY ONE AND ONLY PS3 UP BEFORE MY NEW ONE COMES (NEXT WEEK)).

Anybody knowledgeable on this please respond before I do anything stupid.

Router Server:
Belkin Router Media Server

(If anybody really doesn't believe me (that is if this isn't already for everyone and I'm just being stupid.) I might upload some pictures, my phone's a piece of shit so I don't like to use it often.)
