Port forwarding Router Problems

I'm not sure if this is the right section to ask this, but I feel like it has to do with computers in some way. When I try and port forward my router it never works. I've tried everything I had it works I'd say a year ago but one day it randomly stopped and won't port forward anymore. I have a SMC-8014wn. Not sure if it is the router or something I accidentally did, any help would be great thank you.
