Need controller and Fallout/ Fallout 2 help

I know that using a controller on a PC makes me a stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerfherder, but I am a console gamer. I am really interested in playing the first two Fallout games because I love Fallout 3 and I would have to say that it is my favorite game of all time. If I were to use a controller with the first two Fallout games how would I go about doing this? I plan on buying a PC controller so that I can more easily use it rather than trying to use my DualShock 4 controller. I've never really played a PC game before so this is all new to me. I will be using my Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows 8.1.

So I'm thinking of these two options, please tell me what you think.
